William Bashyr Pickard

William Bashyr Pickard (31 JULY 1889 - 25 JANUARY 1973 )

His published books included 'A New World' (Woking 1946), 'The Beauties of Islam' (Woking), 'The Adventures of Alcassim' (1936) and 'Layla and Majnun: An English Poem in the Persian Vein' (Basheer Muslim Library / The Mosque, Woking, 1924. Pages 62). He was a regular contributor of poetry, prose and several articles on Islam and literature in the journal of 'The Islamic Review' (Woking). He died at his home in Darullah, Hertford on 25th January 1973 at the age of 83.
